Netsuke are tiny decorative carvings and sculptures used to secure the cords on traditional Japanese outfits. This little fox sculpture is inspired by that style, plus he's functional!
He can be used either as a traditional netsuke, as a pendant, or as a scarf ring. He might even fit on a bolo tie! He's got a fairly small diameter hole, so will only work as a scarf ring for silk scarves or other lightweight materials.
Kitsune simply means "fox" in Japanese.
This piece is roughly 2" in diameter (5CM) with a center hole that's roughly 1/2 inch in diameter (2cm). Sculpted in ApoxieSculpt over a wood core for extra strength, painted in acrylic and sealed with shellac. He is fairly lightweight, despite his size.
Available now on Etsy or at the Anthrocon art auction in June (of he sticks around that long) [link]
